a+d and Spectrum Foundation Architecture Awards 2005

Tay Kheng Soon was awarded The Golden Award for Excellence in Architecture Singapore by a+d and Spectrum Foundation in 2005. The award presentation was held in Kuala Lumpur on 7 April, 2006.

a+d is the only national design magazine of architecture in India and Spectrum Foundation is an off-shoot of the giants Spectrum Paints, India. The two have joined hands to provide a platform to applaud excellence in architecture in India and now in South Asian belt. This is the fifth cycle of the a+d & Spectrum Foundation Architecture Awards 2005.

In the Indian context, they have 6 categories as per the different functionalities. A national jury of 25 architects adjundicated the different entries for the various categories. The Golden Architect Award for excellence in architecture in India has one to the Late Architect A.P. Kanvinde.

In 2006, they have honored three architects from Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand for excellence in architecture in their respective countries. The Award Secretariat researched on the names of various architects in these respective countries who had made a mark in architecture in the said directions. After numerous consultations, Tay Kheng Soon has emerged as the Principal Awardee for this prestigious award The Golden Award for Excellence in Architecture Singapore.
