The basic pattern of development is that the new growth should form an intensified growth corridor "sausage" spanning the Golden Triangle Area and extending along Jalan Ampang in the northeast direction and to Cheras in the southeast direction. This "sausage" is linked to the existing CBD by two connecting corridors; on the north, the Kampong Bahru corridor and in the south, the Puduraya corridor. The nature reserve of Bukit Nanas is contained by these two corridors and remains as an important urban park.

The New Link for the Inner Ring Road

This road substitutes for Jalan Sultan Ismail which presently forms part of the Inner Ring Road. Because of this, this stretch of the road which also serves the office buildings and international hotels suffers from severe congestion. The proposed new link for the Inner Ring Road will effectively relieve the traffic along Jalan Sultan Ismail and reduce it to a local road status compatible with the pedestrian activity generated by the adjacent buildings.
